Every year, hundreds of ambitious professionals turn to the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) to master the essential quant finance and machine learning skills they need to meet the demands of the ever-evolving financial markets.
Following the graduation of our most recent cohort of delegates earlier this year, our updated CQF Graduate Careers report aims to celebrate their success, highlighting where they work, what they do, and how the CQF has impacted their career.
“As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the CQF, we continue to believe in equipping professionals with the tools needed to tackle new challenges and progress their careers. That’s why we constantly update our syllabus to ensure that our delegates are able to apply techniques that are actually being used in the industry and partner with them throughout their careers by providing ongoing career support and teaching via the Lifelong Learning library. This updated report highlights the value of that career-long partnership”, said Dr. Randeep Gug, Managing Director of the CQF and CQF Institute.
Key statistics from the report include:
- Risk Management and Quant Strategies and Research are the most popular career paths with 22% of graduates working in these fields, followed by Technology (14%) and Portfolio Management (12%)
- In May 2023, 23% had started a new role in the 11 months since enrolling on the CQF in June
- In May 2023, 14% had gained a more senior position in the 11 months since enrolling on the CQF in June
The report also includes career journeys from two of our June 2022 cohort award winners – Josef Jauk and Paul Ng – who share their experiences of the program and the skills it helped them develop.
As the CQF continues it’s 20th year, we look forward to seeing what all of our graduates go on to do and are excited to welcome the next ambitious quant professionals looking to gain the skills they need to reach the next level of their careers.

About the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF)
The Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) is the world’s largest professional qualification in quant finance. Awarded by the CQF Institute and exclusively delivered by Fitch Learning, the program is delivered online, part-time over six months, with up to three years to complete all modules and the final project. The CQF focuses on teaching the essential quantitative finance and machine learning skills used by practitioners in today’s financial markets. The syllabus is updated quarterly in consultation with faculty and senior alumni to ensure that the skills taught on the program meet industry demand. CQF alumni are given permanent access to the CQF Lifelong Learning library to help them keep their skills competitive throughout their careers.
